Work Injury Rehabilitation

At LeMoine Physical Therapy, we excel in treatment of patients who have work injuries and offer rehabilitation services that support the injured. We will take the time to coordinate care and communicate with all involved parties to help ensure a successful return to work.

Common Work Injuries

Slipping, tripping, falling that results in an injury.

Slipping and falling is an inherent risk in many professions. When the fall occurs in a situation where a degree of negligent behavior was demonstrated on behalf of the employer, the injured employee may be eligible to pursue compensation for treatments they need to recover, such as physical therapy. We will be able to coordinate with involved parties regarding use of compensation you received for therapy needed for your injuries.

Overexertion and muscle strains from repetitive movements.

Occupational injuries can be caused by repetitive motions, commonly referred to as repetitive strain injuries (RSI). Such injuries may arise from improper lifting technique, lifting, pushing or carrying, assembly line tasks, or even typing without proper ergonomics. Most employers should have provided you with training regarding safe completion of such tasks. The best way to avoid RSI is frequent breaks using safety tools and technology when lifting over 50lbs. Untreated injuries can progress over time, causing you more issues down the road.

Equipment and falling objects striking workers and resulting injury.

Some work environments are inherently high-risk. When struck by a falling object, or hit by a piece of heavy machinery, the resulting injuries can be severe. Severe hand injury, severed limbs, traumatic brain and head injuries, and bone breaks or fractures.

Crashes or collisions involving work vehicles.

When vehicles are an integral part of your daily work responsibilities, accidents are likely to happen eventually, regardless of safety measures that are in place. Work injuries involving vehicles range in severity and may require physical therapy to recover fully. Commercial truck accidents are one of the most common causes of debilitating work injuries.

After a Work Injury

After being injured at work, be sure to file a claim through your employer as soon as possible. By making your employer aware of your work injury you can begin the process of getting time and financial assistance for therapy you may end up needing to recover. At LeMoine Physical Therapy we offer programs that provide workplace injury rehabilitation, work site assessments, and prevention ergonomic advice.

Designing a treatment plan to meet your needs.

Each personal therapy program begins with a thorough evaluation of functional limitations and identification of your specific areas of pain. From this evaluation our team will then design treatment plans based on your work-related needs. If needed our team will consult your employer and case manager. We take a team approach to work rehabilitation treatment programs and will do our best to help you regain normal functionality and help you get back to where you were prior to the injury.
